CAP awards accreditation to The Children’s Medical center of Philadelphia Pathology & Laboratory Medicine The Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists has awarded accreditation to The Kids's Hospital of Philadelphia Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania predicated on results of a recent on-site inspection within the CAP's Accreditation Applications. The service's director, Robert W. Doms, MD, PhD, was advised of the national reputation and congratulated for the excellence of the ongoing services being provided. The Kids's Hospital of Philadelphia Pathology & Laboratory Medicine is one of more than 7,000 CAP-accredited services worldwide.‘These research have opened the way to understanding the ways that adaptive or antibody-based factors work together with innate or galectin-based factors to give us immunity against a broad selection of microbes,’ Cummings says. Furthermore, the microarray technology provides tools to review glycan-binding antibodies and galectins in populations, he says. ‘These studies use tiny levels of blood – just a few drops – and present how glycan microarrays could supersede earlier technology,’ he says.
